Our company name, “Mediva”, stands for “Medical Innovation and Value Added”. As in our name, our mission is to realize innovative, patient-centered healthcare. We serve all fields within the healthcare domain, from early detection, prevention and lifestyle management, medical and nursing care, to palliative care and rehabilitation.
The key characteristics of Mediva is that we are not only a healthcare consulting firm but also a healthcare service operation company. We provide our consulting services based on our expertise built through hands-on experience in developing and running our successful healthcare service operations. We serve various types of clients beyond one field. We work with hospitals and clinics to drive significant financial and operational improvements and to start up new services, such as a health check-up service. We also work with other healthcare-related stakeholders in various capacities, such as private corporations to develop new business in healthcare, corporate health insurers to develop disease prevention strategies and to decrease their healthcare expenditures, and governmental organizations to provide healthcare-related recommendations and to implement their healthcare policies and initiatives.
Mediva employs more than 150 people, and some are medical doctors, nurses, rehabilitation specialists, pharmacists and nutritionists and others have various business backgrounds. We work closely with clients and help them solve their problems in collaboration.
We have recently expanded our business domains to the outside of Japan. We have worked with local hospitals, corporations and academic institutions, and managed healthcare projects in countries such as China, Myanmar, Vietnam, Russia, UK and the Middle East. In most projects, in addition to working with local partners, we have worked closely with Japanese organizations, such as the government, medical universities, hospitals and corporations in order to bring in their resources to help the projects. Furthermore, we have collaborated with the Platanus clinics and the Kameda Medical Center, and utilized their high quality clinical expertise in the projects. In addition to exporting our healthcare services and systems, we have been keen to learn the best practices from the world and apply them in the Japanese healthcare systems. One of our key clinical interests is in-home healthcare. We have learned from Australia, US, UK, Holland and other European countries to serve our ever growing elderly population in Japan better.
